Close, Old Town
Rare blue sky - it's been snowing since 8ish the previous evening.
The castle, looking snowy.
Princes Street Gardens, with ice rink. Snow-covered ice rink.
Blue sky, sun, castle!
Dramatic castle.
The next few are taken from Melvin House Hotel. These are the views from the bedrooms at the back and at the front of the hotel.
These are of Dean Village and Fife:
Bird prints on a roof.
These are from the front of the hotel, St Mary's Cathedral, Pentland Hills, and the Castle. Also Drumsheugh Gardens, in front of the hotel.
Out the back of the hotel. It had been lovely and sunny, then suddenly...Mist!
I left the hotel, and headed back to Princes Street. The mist and the sunset made for some very odd light effects.
Strange light, mist, and...did that plane do a u-turn?!
Taking a shortcut through the graveyard. It turned out to be quite picturesque, so it was more of a long-cut.
Sunset light on the clouds.
Castle Rock looking very black and white.
Looking at Princes Street Gardens, completely empty. (They're shut and locked at sundown.)
There was something eerie about the footprints leading out into the deserted gardens.
Back into the graveyard:
Not sure what these red flowers/fruiting bodies are called, but they looked like little paper lanterns. They were very pretty.
There were some kids building a snowman, in the deserted graveyard.
Bunny or squirrel prints:
The roads were a bit snowy:
I just liked the shape of them. Also, I had to scamper (ahem) up here:
More snowy roads, in the centre of town:
Someone built a large snowman. There's a door on the left of the picture for size comparison. That thing must be getting on for seven foot.
